A heavy duty flatrack where the end walls fold flush with the floor. Four units fold into 8ft6in. This is one of 20 patent designs exclusive to CSA licensees. It features a ‘goal’ post end comprising an open frame to enable its use with certain cargo projecting through the ends. The flat can be used as a bolster when the end frames are folded flush with the floor. A special feature of the Type (5) (and (4)) is the lashing beams which are unique to CSA flatracks and are essential for the Type (5) because of the need for additional longitudinal cargo securing.

- Floor lashing beams: 4 x 2m per floor each with: 6 x 5000kg lashing bars, 8 x 2m chocking slots
- Gooseneck tunnel: both ends
- Fork pockets: 115 x 360mm
- Twistlocks: 1 piece forged lift element, 30 degree stainless steel detent
- Header locks: 2 per end semi-automatic
- Corner locking: hammer locked conical pin
- Counterbalancing: leaf spring or coil
- Removable ends: optional use as ramps
- Floor: 45mm softwood planks, 6mm gaps
